Taking on new sites now

The owl is wide awake, so you can sleep.

Your website is your shopfront, and nobody is watching it at two in the morning. We are. When something breaks we tell you what happened, who fixes it, and what to say to them.

Your security certificate is not renewing itself

What it means: Automatic renewal looks broken, so the certificate will expire unless someone steps in.

Who fixes it: Your hosting provider or your developer.

What to ask them: "Our security certificate should have renewed automatically by now. Can you check the renewal?"

— Owlwake

An example, in our words. Every finding like this is re-tested three times with a fresh lookup before you are told.

Built to check dozens of things not just “is it up?”

Plain English alerts that say who fixes it

What we watch

Ordered by what actually costs money, not by what is easy to check.

  • The renewal nobody remembers

Your web address, and whether it is about to lapse. We start warning two months out, then louder at thirty days, and loudest at seven.

A lapsed address takes the site and the email with it.

  • Does the contact form deliver? coming soon

A real browser fills it in with a marked message, and we prove the message arrived. Not just that the form said thank you.

The quietest way there is to lose a customer.

  • Is it up, right now?

Checked around the clock, and re-tested three times with a fresh lookup before anyone wakes you.

Found by us, not by a customer phoning you.

  • Pages changed by someone who is not you

Defaced pages and injected spam links. coming soon Scripts appearing on your site that you never added.

Google blacklists a hacked site within days.

  • The security certificate

Whether it is about to expire, whether its renewal is actually working, and whether it covers every address people type.

Browsers show a full-page warning the hour it expires.

  • Can customers still find you?

Speed, broken links, and the one setting that quietly hides a whole site from Google after a redesign.

Invisible for weeks before anyone notices.

Everything we do is passive. We look at your site the way any visitor does, and we never log in to anything you own.

How it works

  1. You give us the address

Ten minutes of questions: your site, who built it, what must always be on the homepage, and where alerts should go. Nothing to install, and no passwords.

  2. We watch, and we check twice

Around the clock. Every failure is re-tested with a fresh lookup before you hear about it, so you are never woken for a blip.

  3. You get told what to do

What happened, since when, what we think it is, who fixes it, and the words to send them. Then a monthly report that proves the month was quiet.

Proof, once a month

Every month you get one page that says whether the month was quiet, and a ledger of everything we caught. It is the thing you forward to a partner when they ask what this costs and why.

You also get a status page of your own, so when something is wrong you have somewhere to point people instead of answering the same message twenty times.

Questions people ask

Why not use a free checker?

You could, and you would still have to set it up, read the alerts, and know what they mean. And it would say nothing about your web address expiring, your certificate's renewal quietly breaking, or spam links appearing in your pages. We do the reading.

My hosting company does this.

Hosting watches their own servers. Nobody watches your web address, your mail records, or whether Google can still find you. Ask them when your domain expires.

Can you just fix it when something breaks?

No, and that is on purpose. We never touch your site, so what we tell you is never bent toward selling you a repair. You get exactly what to ask your developer or host for, and if you do not have one, three we trust.

Do you need passwords or access to my site?

No. No passwords, no plugins, nothing to install. We look at your site the way a visitor does.

What if something breaks and you do not notice?

Every failure is re-tested three times with a fresh lookup before anyone is woken, and a separate service watches us: if our own checking stops running, it wakes us. Not a guarantee, but better than the current plan, which is a customer telling you.

We are taking on a small number of sites first, so we can look after them properly.

We read every one of these. There is no list and no newsletter, your address is used to reply to you and nothing else, and you will hear back within a day. How we handle it.
